Press Release
Issued by Jet Aviation Basel.
March 19, 2014
Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL), the award-winning independent aircraft maintenance provider and division of The Monarch Group, has seconded a specialist team of structural aircraft engineers to Basel to complete a Strut Improvement Program (SIP) for Jet Aviation. The company, who gained its Bermuda Department Civil Aviation approval in October 2013, has sent a team of licensed engineers from its headquarters at London Luton airport to Jet Aviation's facility in Basel to carry out the SIP modification on a Boeing 767 VIP aircraft. The SIP modification is a very extensive rebuild of the engine pylons to restore damage tolerance capability. Derek Gibson, compliance and service delivery director for MAEL, said: “Our flexible maintenance solutions prove to be a great asset to our customers. This an excellent example of how MAEL's reputation in Europe, together with our capability to second a highly skilled work force to a location away from our main UK locations at the customer's request, has resulted in a very worthwhile opportunity for the company and the team involved.”
