Russian Helicopters appoints new managing director at Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise

Victor Novikov has been appointed managing director of Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise, part of Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of State Corporation Rostec. Novikov joins Kumertau from DBA Engineering, a United Engine Corporation Company, where he held the position of deputy ceo.

Russian Helicopters has set Kumertau's new management several priority tasks including delivering a renewed development impetus. Victor Novikov will continue reorganisation work and efficiency-boosting measures underway at the enterprise. He replaces Sergei Mikryukov, who headed Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise since 2008.

"I would like to thank Sergei Mikryukov for the significant contribution he made to the company's development," Russian Helicopters ceo Alexander Mikheev said. "I am confident that Victor Novikov will bring great professional and leadership experience to his new position, and that he will ensure Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise meets the goals set under the Russian helicopter industry's broader development strategy."

"The production facility is currently being modernised, new equipment and the latest technologies are being actively incorporated, which will make it possible to expand output while also facilitating close cooperation with other Russian Helicopters companies," Victor Novikov, managing director at Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise, said. "I am confident that the enterprise's inherent potential and proven record for teamwork will, in conjunction with the wider efforts underway at Russian Helicopters, enable us to achieve our goals."

Victor Novikov was born in 1967. He studied economics at the Bashkir State Agrarian University (formerly the Bashkir Agricultural Institute), graduating in 1999. In 2009 he completed a course in Innovation Management at the Ufa State Aviation Technical University. He spent much of his career at the Ufa aggregate enterprise Gidravlika, a Russian company that specialises in the production of auxiliary power units for military and civil aviation. It was at Gidravlika that, from 2001 to 2012, Novikov worked his way up from Reconstruction Bureau chief to ceo. Since 2012 Novikov was deputy ceo at DBA Engineering. Victor Novikov has been recognised for his services to mechanical engineering with the following state awards: Honoured Mechanical Engineer of the Russian Federation, and Honoured Mechanical Engineer of the Russian Republic of Bashkortorstan.
