Rockwell Collins Venue cabin system wins Inflight innovation award

Rockwell Collins Venue™ high-definition (HD) cabin management and entertainment system received the top honor by InFlight magazine for innovation in large vip corporate jet cabins. The company accepted the award during the recent Aircraft Interiors Middle East trade show in Dubai, U.A.E.

A panel of aerospace experts judged large vip aircraft cabin system suppliers based on comfort, durability, innovation, quality and design.

“We selected Rockwell Collins' Venue because the passenger lies at the heart of the design and innovation of the system, which delivers an experience very comparable to home,” said Liz Moscrop, editor, Inflight.

“We're honored by this recognition for the large vip aircraft cabin market segment,” said Greg Irmen, vice president and general manager, Flight Controls and Information Systems for Rockwell Collins. “Venue's popularity continues to grow for Airbus Corporate Jet and Boeing Business Jet owners due to its scalability and large bandwidth to support new technology.”

In recent months, Rockwell Collins Venue was selected for an Airbus A340CJ vvip business jet, which is the largest aircraft the system will be installed on to date. This highlights a series of large vip cabin system wins over the past two years.

The latest enhancements to Rockwell Collins Venue include the wireless sharing of content across a broader range of Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)-Certified personal devices such as Android and iOS devices, the Kindle Fire and laptop computers.

Venue has been installed in more than 350 business aircraft cabins, which is the highest number of HD cabins delivered in the business aircraft market segment.
