Global aircraft charter provider, Air Charter Service, has announced that Ruan Courtney has taken over as managing director of the company.
He replaces long-standing md, Tony Bauckham, who will remain at ACS for one year providing counsel as joint managing director to aid Mr. Courtney's transition. “There comes a time when it is pertinent to hand over the reins to one's successor. ACS is at an exciting time in its global development to which I will continue to contribute”, noted Bauckham.
As well as holding the position at ACS, Bauckham has previously been md of the cargo aircraft operator, Volga Dnepr UK Ltd, he has also in the past held the position of executive vice president of US-based Evergreen International Airlines.
Chris Leach, ACS's chairman and founder commented; “I would like to sincerely thank Tony for his contribution and continued commitment to ACS. There is no doubt in my mind that we would not be the globally successful company we are today without his hard work and I'm honoured to have been able to work together so successfully with such a close friend”.
Speaking of his new md, Leach remarked; “Ruan has been with us since 1997 and has worked across almost every department in the company. He has the experience and knowledge necessary to carry on the great work Tony has been doing and I am confident that together with our new vice chairman, Justin Bowman, he can take the company to new heights”.
Explaining his vision for the newly appointed md, Leach said, “Ruan will be concentrating on implementing the strategy that Justin and I set out, as well as continuing to oversee ACS's worldwide executive jets divisions.”
