SkyTrac Systems has been selected by Mountain View Helicopters of Calgary, Alberta to provide satellite communication (SatCom) and flight following technology. With a fleet of R22, R44, and EC 120 aircraft, Mountain View Helicopters specialize in helicopter tours, flight training and fire suppression. Mountain View Helicopters is using the SkyTrac system to track the location of aircraft and analyze flights for new pilots.
Paul Bergeron, president of Mountain View Helicopters, commented: "The SkyTrac system has proven to be a useful instrument in increasing safety in our flight training operations. The benefits of the system are twofold: first we can follow the location of the aircraft while the pilot is out, and second, upon his return, can analyze the flight and discuss areas for improvement." Bergeron also discussed the benefits of the system for everyday operations: "Occasionally when a pilot is out on a job we need to provide him with updated details. Before the SkyTrac system was installed, we had to rely on cell phone coverage, which is unreliable in many areas. Now we are able to contact our pilots at any time no matter their location, making our operations more efficient."
"SkyTrac is pleased to have won the business of Mountain View Helicopters and we look forward to a long lasting partnership," said SkyTrac Systems President and CEO Kathleen Wallace. "The R44 and the EC 120 are workhorse helicopters for many operators across the world and we are also pleased to add more of these aircraft to our install base."
