Press Release
Issued by Collins Aerospace.
November 15, 2013
Rockwell Collins is entering into an agreement with OSN that will enable live high-definition (HD) and high-compression video (MPEG-4) programming on its Tailwind 500 and 550 Multi-region in-flight Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) TV system.
Rockwell Collins' Tailwind is a fully integrated, proven cabin TV system that delivers live DBS programming from Ku-band subscription-based and free-to-air TV providers. Current Tailwind operators that subscribe to OSN programming will require a hardware update, which will be available in early 2014.
Rockwell Collins is the only company that offers live HD and MPEG-4 programming in business jet cabins. With Tailwind, passengers have access to the most comprehensive selection and widest regional coverage of live TV programming in the air.
