Gulfstream names Lor Izzard director of sales support and technical marketing

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently named Lor Izzard director, sales support and technical marketing. In his new role, Izzard will be responsible for leading sales engineering, technical marketing and sales and design center operations. Izzard reports to Bill Shira, vice president, marketing and sales support, Gulfstream.

Izzard joined Gulfstream in 1999 as an electrical engineer for service engineering. He quickly advanced to mechanical systems, where he specialized in aircraft system troubleshooting and issue resolution. He was then reassigned to project engineering to assist in the creation of the mid-cabin sustaining engineering group. Izzard went on to become the G150 entry-into-service (EIS) program manager. In 2009, he was named the G200 EIS program manager and from there moved into the G280 EIS program director role.

“In his EIS roles, Lor successfully managed the delivery of some of the most reliable and operationally flexible aircraft for Gulfstream's customers, earning the respect of both his peers and our customers,” Shira said. “We look forward to Lor's leadership in sales support and technical marketing.”

Izzard earned a bachelor's degree in aviation technology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. He is a licensed private pilot and an airframe and powerplant mechanic.
