Accreditation, border control, taxation and business intelligence to be covered in next BACA training seminar

Should there be an accreditation system for air charter brokers? Is the UK Border Agency treating charter passengers in the same way at every airport? How does the Tour Operators Margin Scheme (TOMS) affect charter flights?

These are just some of the questions to be addressed at the next BACA training session to be held at the Baltic Exchange in London on Tuesday 26 November. BACA (Baltic Air Charter Association) regularly holds free seminars for its members as part of its commitment to raising quality standards in the air charter industry.

BACA chairman Tony Coe will discuss the association's proposal to introduce its own formal accreditation scheme for air charter brokers as well as look at recent government pronouncements on how TOMS should impact on the charter industry.

Marc Bailey, ceo of BBGA (British Business and General Aviation Association), will consider the cumulative effects of tax on the charter market, while representatives from the UK Border Agency and the Association of Chief Police Officers (Terrorism and Allied Matters) will outline current policy and issues.

Other topics to be covered include bribery and corruption, internet cloning, insurance and what to look for in a charter contract. WingX will give a presentation on the business intelligence it provides for the business aviation community.

Markham Jackson, marketing executive, says the training seminars, which run from 9.30am to 3.30pm, are becoming increasingly popular so members are booked on a first come, first served basis.
