SkyTrac Systems has been selected to provide satellite communication (SatCom) and flight following to AYR Group. As providers of helicopter and fixed wing charter support in some of the world's most inhospitable and austere environments, AYR Group will gain an immeasurable safety benefit to their operations by using SkyTrac's products in their aircraft.
Stefan Jocks, Executive Vice President of AYR Group commented: "SkyTrac's equipment enhances our safety program and increases our accountability, which are important for our crews and our clients. Being equipped with SkyTrac is now a strong component of our technical proposals. In practice, the tracking system has been of particular value on our missions in Sudan – a country in which, to our knowledge, AYR Group is the only operator utilizing tracking systems on their aircraft."
Jocks continued: "AYR Group considers the quality of SkyTrac's products unmatched. Their use of Iridium – the only satellite system with full global coverage – is of critical importance. Aside from the capabilities of the equipment itself, the client support services are excellent; with a 24/7 data center support and high levels of system reliability. Furthermore, SkyTrac's in-house hardware and software design and manufacturing groups provide quick responses to any configuration issues."
"We admire the important humanitarian work being undertaken by AYR Group and we are delighted to have them as a customer," said Kathleen Wallace, President and CEO of SkyTrac Systems. "These aircraft fly in adverse conditions in remote locations where help is often not close at hand and we are pleased to be providing technology that enhances the safety and efficiency of AYR Group's operations."
