Gulfstream names William Brown III director of global security

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently named William Brown III director of Global Security. In this position, he manages activities critical to the protection of Gulfstream's employees, assets and property. He reports to Joe Drake, vice president, Real Estate and Facilities, Gulfstream.

Brown came to Gulfstream in 2008 as manager of Security Services and was then promoted to senior manager of Corporate Security Services. He was responsible for implementing, coordinating and enhancing the company's security efforts, including policies and procedures, physical security, counterintelligence, background checks, access control and a national industrial security program.

“William has nearly 20 years of experience in security and security management,” Drake said. “His background, experience and personal leadership skills are instrumental in maintaining a professional, well-regarded security organization that protects our assets and our customers' assets alike.”

Before joining Gulfstream, Brown was an assistant director for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency Access Control Division and physical security evaluator for the U.S. Secretary of Defense. Before retiring from the U.S. Air Force Security Forces, he received a number of military awards and medals, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the third-highest award issued by the U. S. Department of Defense.

Brown earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in business administration from American InterContinental University. He also has a certificate in leadership and management and advanced intercultural management from the Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business, Executive Education.
