Air Service Basel handles majority of aircraft during Art Basel 2013

Air Service Basel's FBO at the Euroairport in Basel-Mulhouse reported an extremely busy period during this year's Art Basel fair from 10-16th June, supporting visiting jets and their vip passengers, as Basel once again became the central meeting place for the international art world.

Noting a slight increase in traffic compared to last year's Art Basel event, Air Service Basel handled more than 230 private and business aviation movements. Conveniently located just 20 minutes from the exhibition halls in the heart of Basel, Air Service Basel handled record numbers of aircraft and passengers, with almost 50 arriving and departing flights on peak days.

“The Art Basel is always the busiest time of the year for our FBO”, says Air Service Basel's ceo Claudio Lasagni, “and our team provided an excellent handling service to all our guests”, while he also highlights that the outstanding co-operation and teamwork of the various partners and authorities at the Euroairport Basel with Air Service Basel's FBO team was a major contributing factor to the tremendous success.

Art Basel 2013 presented 304 galleries from around the world exhibiting the work of over 4,000 artists, which attracted a record of 70,000 visitors over the six show days. Representatives from over 70 museums around the world attended the show, alongside major private collectors from North and South America, Europe, and Asia.
