ABACE returns to Shanghai April 15 to 17, 2014

Although little more than a month has passed since the 2013 edition of the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE2013) concluded as the most successful ABACE to date, plans are already underway for ABACE to return to Shanghai, China from April 15 to 17, 2014.

“Organizers are hard at work to make ABACE2014 an even more successful demonstration of the significance of business aviation in the Asia-Pacific, and in the months ahead we'll have a number of exciting announcements to share,” said NBAA president and ceo Ed Bolen. “We look forward to welcoming everyone to Shanghai for next year's ABACE, from April 15 to April 17.”

If established trends are any indication, ABACE2014 will build on the success of previous years and remain the preeminent event dedicated solely to the business aviation industry in China and the Asia-Pacific region.

ABACE has proven to be a high-value event, attracting entrepreneurs, wealth creators, aircraft-purchase decision makers and other high-level Attendees from China and across Asia. For ABACE2013, Attendee registrations were up more than 30 percent over registrations for the previous year's show.

The size of the show also continues to increase: the ABACE2013 Exhibit floor was expanded to accommodate demand, and exhibitors responded, with a 15-percent increase in exhibits over the count for 2012. The ABACE2013 static display of aircraft also grew, with 25 percent more airplanes and helicopters than the display for the 2012 show. The number of exhibitor chalets accompanying the aircraft on the static display ramp also increased, by 44 percent over the chalet total for ABACE2012.

News organizations from around the world continue to recognize the importance of ABACE as the business aviation community's most significant annual event in Asia, and the event is viewed by companies in the industry as an important news-making venue: more than 200 media organizations from across China and around the globe routinely cover the event, including Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, and China Daily, Shanghai Business Daily, as well as Western media outlets including CNN, Associated Press, Agence France-Presse, Forbes and Financial Times.

Major figures in government and industry are also key participants in each ABACE. ABACE2012 included a presentation from U.S. Department of Transportation Deputy Secretary John D. Porcari, while the 2013 event welcomed Gary Locke, U.S. ambassador to China, and Roberto Kobeh Gonzalez, president of the council of the International Civil Aviation Organization. Also in 2013, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) expanded its ABACE participation to host the China Business Aviation Symposium, a day-long forum dedicated to discussions about the expansion of business aviation in the region.

ABACE is produced through a partnership between the Shanghai Airport Authority and NBAA, and co-hosted by NBAA, the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) and the Shanghai Exhibition Center (SEC). The event features an expansive exhibit floor at the Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Centre, and a static display of aircraft at nearby Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.
