Jetcraft Corporation announced during EBACE 2008 that Jahid Fazal-Karim, one of the industry's elite sales executives, will become a shareholder and member of the board of directors of the company and will serve as new managing director of Jetcraft Trading, the strategic alliance for aircraft sales and acquisition services between the Jet Aviation Group and Jetcraft Corporation. The announcement was made by Jetcraft Corporation's president and majority owner Charles "Bucky" Oliver.
Widely recognized as one of the industry's most successful sales executives, Jahid Fazal-Karim will add a new dimension to Jetcraft Trading, which was formed last year as a strategic alliance between Jet Aviation and Jetcraft Corporation to offer worldwide solutions for aircraft sales and acquisitions. Jetcraft Trading was expanding its activities aggressively and had already closed several large transactions, when John Ames, one of the key drivers of this strategic alliance died unexpectedly late last year.
"I am thrilled to have Jahid as a shareholder and member of the board with Jetcraft Corporation," noted Oliver. "His tremendous experience and skills will perfectly complement our existing capabilities and as managing director, Jahid will significantly expand the international presence of Jetcraft Trading."
"I am honored to become a shareholder of such a fine company with a 45-year track record in aircraft transactions, a large customer base and longstanding industry relationships," said Jahid Fazal-Karim. "I believe Jetcraft has the foundation to become the leader in aircraft sales and acquisition services worldwide. The strategic alliance with Jet Aviation is a great platform to continue to expand internationally and leverage each other's strengths. Our current and potential customers will get the benefit of a high level of expertise and access to a true worldwide network when selling or purchasing a business aircraft. I am very excited about this opportunity and looking forward to add value to Jetcraft and our customers," he added.
Jahid Fazal-Karim has worked with Bombardier Aerospace Business Aircraft since 2001, the last three years as the company's senior vice-president responsible for worldwide sales. He led a team of over 100 professionals and also was a member of Bombardier's senior executive board. Jahid started with Bombardier as vice president for The Americas, later becoming the vice president for international sales. Before joining Bombardier in 2001, he spent nine years with Airbus Industrie in various executive positions in both France and North America.
