A service that has long been offered in the premium ranges of the automotive industry is now available in the aircraft industry thanks to RUAG Aviation, who have further developed it to deliver unparalleled customisation possibilities.

As of May, the RUAG Aviation "Paint Centre of Excellence" will offer a new and unique online service for designing aircraft paintwork. Thanks to the RUAG Paint Configurator, aircraft owners and operators are now able design the exterior paintwork of their aircraft via the internet – quickly and free of charge. The RUAG Paint Configurator offers an unlimited combination of colours, setting it apart from all standard configurators in the market, which only offer limited preset colours.

The Configurator was developed by RUAG Aviation to help unearth initial ideas for new and attractive aircraft designs, and to give free rein to creativity.

Users can choose between six aircraft models from reputable OEMs, each featuring five different designs. Besides the preset RUAG Aviation Designer Colours, the RUAG Paint Configurator allows customers to mix their own personal colours, thereby offering unlimited colour combinations and the first truly customisable paint configurator experience. Once the design and paintwork have been selected, the visualisation of the aircraft is generated live, providing customers with an accurate view of their personalised aircraft from a variety of angles.

Customers can request to have their self-created designs improved with greater detail. Our paint specialists are on hand throughout the design process and are more than happy to assist in the provision of technical drawings and other visualisations, thereby ensuring that nothing our customers' visions for their designs can be realised.
