April 30, 2013
Duncan Aviation will feature Future Air Navigation Systems (FANS) resources and expert advice at Stand #327 at the 2013 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE), taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, May 21-23.
Duncan Aviation's FANS resources include:
· Understanding FANS, a four-part FANS video series
· Straight Talk About FANS 1/A, an ebook available for download
· A FANS 1/A Webinar, available for download
All of these resources provide current information on the evolution of FANS, how FANS operates, certification and upcoming mandates. In addition, Duncan Aviation offers information and advice regarding FANS operations, and answers the most common questions that operators are asking.
Justin Vena was instrumental in the development in these resources, along with the team of Avionics Installation experts at Duncan Aviation. Vena's passion for understanding the world's NextGen initiatives has led to his extensive research on the subject. The FANS resources explain Controller Pilot Data Link (CPDLC), Automatic Dependent Surveillance Contract (ADS-C) and how they operate. In the videos and ebook, Vena gives details about what happens with initial set-up and operation, including air traffic controller hand-offs, and explains the components included in a typical FANS system. The video series provides information in regards to FANS mandates in Europe and the North Atlantic tracks.
