ICG receives ISO9001 and AS9100 accreditation for its quality management system

ICG (International Communications Group Inc.), announced today that it has received ISO9001:2008 AND AS9100:2009 Rev-C accreditation for its Quality Management System. ISO9001 and AS9100 is the quality management standard specifically written for the aerospace industry with input from The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the American Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG) and support from the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) and the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC).

"We pursued AS9100 accreditation because achieving it provides a highly credible basis for the definition of key roles and responsibilities and the standardization of processes and procedures to ensure the consistency and reliability of our products," explained ICG's Vice President Operations John Ferguson. "As a result of this exercise, we have developed a new, more specific Quality Policy:

ICG is committed to being the industry leader in global aircraft communication solutions by delivering World-Class quality products and embracing a culture of understanding, then exceeding our customer's expectations; maintaining a commitment of compliance to requirements; and continually improving the effectiveness of our Quality Management System.

"The AS9100 auditors who reviewed ICG were extremely complimentary of our quality efforts. This reflects positively on all of our employees. They can be deservedly proud that we compare favorably to our peers in the industry," he added.

"Our ultimate goal in becoming AS9100 certified is satisfying our customers with quality products and support. It has a number of ancillary benefits including cost savings that can be obtained through improved efficiencies and productivity, elimination of waste and a reduction of rejected work. Customers can have confidence that their orders will be filled on time, consistently and to the correct specifications," noted ICG Chief Executive Officer Scott Trainum.

ICG also recently underwent a restructuring to accommodate its two major market segments. The company's Business Aviation Systems (BAS) enterprise is focused on providing ICG's line of products to ICG dealers, completion and retrofit centers, flight departments, business aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and end user/decision makers. Its Commercial Aviation Systems (CAS) division serves airlines and cargo haulers as well as heavy iron airframe OEMs and service providers. "To establish consistent, high levels of responsiveness that addresses each customer's specific requirements, we have focused on making both our organizational structure and our quality management system as efficient as possible," Trainum concluded.
