ExecuJet Aviation Group's fixed base operation (FBO) at Zurich Airport, Switzerland, is celebrating a busy week of aircraft handling for the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting at Davos-Klosters.
During the event, held from 23-27 January, ExecuJet handled over 300 business aircraft movements at Zurich Airport and Dübendorf Airport (LSMD), including a high proportion of ultra-long-range business jets. The group also recorded a fuel uplift of over 260,000 litres during the event.
As in prior years, ExecuJet met high levels of WEF customer demand by expanding its aircraft parking capacity through an exclusive agreement with Dübendorf, a military facility close to Zurich Airport. Dübendorf enjoyed its highest ever WEF traffic, with movements up by over 80% on 2012.
The WEF Annual Meeting is a premier international conference devoted to advancing international cooperation on political and socio-economic issues. This year's event attracted political and business figures including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Goldman Sachs' Chairman & CEO Lloyd Blankfein and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
Viviane Sigg, ExecuJet's Zurich FBO Manager, says: "The WEF Annual Meeting is the ultimate test for an FBO. Not only do we have to handle a huge spike in aircraft movements, but the passengers are at the very top of the global 'A List'. For such a prestigious event and clientele there is simply no scope for error. I am delighted at how our team rose to the challenge this year."
Nicole Gut, ExecuJet's Director of European FBOs, says: "ExecuJet aims to set the global standard for FBO operations. Our Zurich team more than upheld the group's reputation over the past week and we are delighted to have played a role in the smooth running of this year's WEF Annual Meeting."
ExecuJet operates 10 FBOs in Europe, with operations at Zurich, Geneva (in partnership with RUAG Aviation), Berlin, Paris (in partnership with Advanced Air Support), Frankfurt, Gerona, Barcelona, Ibiza, Valencia and London Cambridge. The group operates a further eight FBOs worldwide in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Lagos, Dubai, Melbourne, Wellington, Istanbul and Riyadh.
