AirSatOne announced their newest product the Wolfhound-PRO™ AVN handheld cell detector. The Wolfhound-PRO™ AVN is designed to detect and locate cell phone signals on board aircraft allowing air carriers to eliminate interference issues with navigation and communication equipment especially during sterile cockpit operations.
Incorporating specialized software customized for the aircraft environment, the Wolfhound PRO AVN is intended for use by the cabin crew to eliminate potential sources of interference and to ensure compliance with Title 14 CFR Part 91.21. Ground crew and security personnel can also use the cell detector to check baggage and packages for transmitting cell signals either inadvertently left on or for suspect devices that may use a cell signal.
"Airline employees are tasked with making sure electronic devices are turned off in flight due to safety concerns. Transmitting device such as cell phones is an increased concern because they can interrupt the normal operation of key cockpit instruments. Any given flight can have multiple cell phone devices transmitting radio signals because they were left on intentionally or inadvertently. This becomes a serious problem during an approach to landing in inclement weather with zero viability where the pilots of the aircraft need to rely on the instruments that are susceptible to interference. To offer a solution to the problem AirSatOne teamed up with BVS because of their long of history of success with cell phone detection devices. As a result we have developed the Wolfhound-PRO™ AVN," commented Jo Kremsreiter, AirSatOne's president.
Scott Schober, BVS president and ceo, commented, "We are excited to partner with AirSatOne in offering a tailored test solution to the avionics industry with the release of the Wolfhound Pro AVN. AirSatOne can now offer an effective solution that will manage the risk of transmitting cell phones aboard aircraft. The Wolfhound Pro AVN will detect and locate cell phone transmissions that could be a source of potential interference to avionic navigation and communication instruments."
The Wolfhound-PRO™ AVN part number 909-796-001 is available now through AirSatOne.
