Canadian company Heli-One, member of CHC Helicopter and the world's largest helicopter support company, is opening its next base at the grounds of Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport. The agreement between two companies was signed on the 7th of November, 2012.
The construction of the renovation and repair centre that implements MRO services is presumed to be initiated next year. This will be in turn the fourth centre of this type operating under the name of the Canadian company working around all continents. Heli-One plans to employ over 100 highly qualified specialists in engineering, avionics and mechanics, and will overhaul mostly heavy helicopters such as the Eurocopter Super Puma. Nevertheless, representatives of Heli-One have taken into consideration epair services for lighter helicopters and for helicopters of other manufacturers (e.g. Sikorsky, Augusta-Westland, Bell).
Heli-One (Poland) has already installed itself in temporary premises at Rzeszow Airport. The company currently employs over 30 people who are undergoing intensive training. According to the plan, the target base of Heli-One is going to be open at the turn of 2013 and 2014.
