Press Release
Issued by Stratajet.
November 12, 2012
Stratajet is now inviting select UK-based charter companies to add their aircraft to its new technology-driven marketplace.
Stratajet represents the first real solution to many of the inefficiencies in the private aviation industry, in particular the problem of empty legs. Stratajet will be the only online brokerage platform that has the capability for real-time booking rather than simply quote generation.
It is absolutely free for operators to use the service, comes with no risk and minimum upkeep is required following initial set-up. Aircraft are registered and managed in Stratafleet, an online web-application that interacts with Stratajet. Through Stratafleet, charter companies will also benefit from access to real-time airfield pricing and a number of operational tools intended to streamline workflow and make operations easier and more productive.
Stratafleet's unique technology enables charter companies to track and analyse profitability and utilisation of aircraft in real-time. Operators will be able to use this analysis to optimise their fleet and maximise their revenue potential on the Stratajet platform.
In order to be part of Stratajet, charter companies must provide:
1) aircraft performance, noise and emissions data for each aircraft;
2) aircraft schedules;
3) desired revenue for flights booked with Stratajet.
Stratajet eliminates duplicative work by integrating with operators' existing operations software to obtain schedules automatically. Stratajet is pleased to announce integration with Leon Software, whose clients will be able to take immediate advantage of the system. In addition to Leon, Stratajet has put tools in place to integrate with both internal and other third party operations software.
In a world of e-commerce and real-time selling, booking procedures in charter aviation still rely heavily on manual processes. The current broker structure of the market means there is little choice and no transparency, resulting in high costs and perpetuating inefficiencies: some 40% of flights are empty legs. Stratajet was founded to bring efficiency to private aviation by using its cutting-edge technology to harness large quantities of data and streamline processes.
"Business as usual threatens our industry's viability. Scheduled airlines are fast becoming more convenient than flying private. This is unacceptable. To survive, and to grow again, we have to change. Stratajet can help private aviation bring about this change." said Jonathan Nicol, Stratajet founder.
"Our vision is to propel the industry forward. We are unashamed to be a force for change, and are prepared for what will be a long road ahead. Working closely with charter operators and other partners, we will build market share, revenues, and profits for the business aviation sector. Together, we can and will resurrect this industry and restore vibrancy."
How does Stratajet work?
Stratajet creates an efficient market – by matching supply and demand in real time. Charter operators provide the supply by committing some or all of their fleet to the Stratajet pool, by using the Stratafleet software. Stratajet is currently accepting UK-based aircraft, but will shortly expand to include all of Europe.
When the pool of available aircraft is built, an aggressive and holistic marketing strategy will create demand by driving customers, new and old, to use the revolutionary easy-to-use online booking service supported by Stratajet's 24/7 operations team. The website will allow travel managers, PAs or direct customers to enter all information relevant to their journey, so that they can filter, search and compare combinations of airfield and aircraft options, depending on what they value: speed, comfort or price. The days of the long, drawn-out booking process and phoning intermediaries are over.
Powering the website is a sophisticated pricing engine that calculates, with perfect precision, the cost of a flight between any two airfields, in any aircraft, at any time of day, 365 days a year. A process that takes days is done in seconds. By gathering untapped demand – by creating a market – and by using its advanced empty leg algorithm, Stratajet both minimises the time aircraft fly empty and maximises operators' profit.
