Citation X equipped With Winglet Technology elliptical winglets sets cross country record between Anchorage, Alaska and Miami, Florida

Winglet Technology, LLC reinforced the significant performance enhancement its Elliptical Winglets bring to the world's fastest business jet, the Mach .92 Citation X, in a dramatic and impressive way on October 28, 2012 by establishing a new cross country speed record over a recognized course between Anchorage, Alaska and Miami, Florida, a distance of 3,479 nautical miles.

The non-stop trip exceeded the published maximum range of the airplane by over 100 nautical miles. The crew of Al Larson and Chuck Feaga piloted the airplane from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport to Miami International Airport in a total elapsed time of 7 hours and 13 minutes. The airplane took off at 36,000 lbs. with 3 passengers--noted aviation writer and Senior Editor of Business and Commercial Aviation magazine, Fred George, Winglet Technology President Bob Kiser and former Cessna V.P. Product Development and Chief of Aerodynamics during the development of the Citation X, Randy Nelson. The aircraft, is owned and operated by Jayhawk Aviation, located in Wichita, KS. Also participating as a sponsor of the record flight was Appearance Group.

The aircraft Anchorage at 7:28 AM local time and climbed directly to 45,000 feet, cruising at an average speed of 482 knots (554 mph). It arrived at Miami at 6:41 PM local time. Details of the cross country flight have been submitted to the National Aeronautics Association (NAA) for review and certification for jet aircraft in the Class C.I.I (35,274 lbs.-44,092 lbs. takeoff weight) category.

"This flight provides a graphic demonstration of the improved performance derived from the installation of Winglet Technology's patented Elliptical Winglets" Bob Kiser explained. "The flight also illustrates the capability and performance of a Citation X equipped with our Elliptical Winglet design. We were able to climb direct to FL450 and then step climb to FL470 for the balance of the flight. A Citation X without the Elliptical Winglets would not have been able to make this trip without a fuel stop," he added.

Following conclusion of the record flight, the airplane was repositioned to Orlando Executive Airport where it will be on static display throughout the National Business Aviation Association's 62nd Annual Meeting & Convention in Space number 260.

Winglet Technology has sold over 60 Citation X Elliptical Winglet kits since receiving STC approval in 2009. The company is located at 8200 East 34th Street North, Suite 1410, Wichita, Kansas 67226. The company will be exhibiting at the National Business Aviation Association Annual Meeting & Convention at Booth # 1743 in the Orange County Convention Center.

Appearance Group, the industry's leading provider of comprehensive detailing services is headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, Appearance Group applied Permagard, a reactive polymer coating that chemically bonds to the pores of the paintwork to seal and protect the surface. "The application of Permagard not only extends durability and retards deterioration of the paint, it also reduces drag--something that no doubt contributed to the establishment of this long-range record," said Don Henry, Chief Executive Officer of Appearance Group.

"We invite operators who want to learn more about the work we performed on this record-setting airplane to visit our NBAA Exhibit at Booth # 4440," he added.
