Air BP launch OMEGA customer support system at Biggin Hill Airport

Air BP, the specialised aviation division of BP, has launched their new OMEGA training and support system this month at London's Biggin Hill Airport.

The OMEGA package combines a comprehensive operations manual with implementation support and training so that Air BP customers such as Biggin Hill Airport can achieve high levels of operating standards. OMEGA defines these standards and incorporates all operational maintenance and emergency response procedures. It sets out how staff has to manage the fuel from the moment that it arrives at the airport, to its safe storage and quality testing, to moving it around the airport and filling aircraft tanks, along with how to maintain equipment and respond to problems.

At Biggin Hill Airport, training staff from Air BP will tap into in-house training for all fuelling personnel with personalised material.

Ruth Tootill, Air BP's General Aviation Account Manager UK, says that Biggin Hill Airport has consistently demonstrated a commitment to operational excellence and recognises the importance of having a clear policy on training and customer service.

"So it will be no surprise that Biggin Hill are Air BP's first client to implement OMEGA. Training and support has already commenced and will continue during the months ahead," says Ruth Tootill.

"Implementation of the OMEGA system will move Biggin Hill Airport well above the aviation standards required by the Civil Aviation Authority. Air BP will provide on-going support to ensure that knowledge and performance in operational techniques remain up-to-date" says Ruth Tootill

Jenny Munro, Managing Director, Biggin Hill Airport Ltd, has congratulated Air BP on their considerable investment in the OMEGA system.

"The new OMEGA concept has become available exactly at a time when we are upgrading our services with new equipment and requiring to train personnel. Our recent investment in fuelling facilities and the state-of-the-art Fire & Rescue Centre, which is about to open, are key components in our strategy of modern safety management and customer service," says Jenny Munro.
