BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) has hired Trevor van Rooyen as Regional Sales Manager for sub-Saharan Africa. Van Rooyen will represent service offerings on all ERO product lines – from Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A through Rolls-Royce Tay.
"We have known and worked with Trevor for many years as a customer, and are pleased that he has now come to join us in representing our engine services," stated BBA Aviation ERO Vice President of International Sales, Willy Harmon. "Trevor brings nearly three decades of experience on engine and airframe products to ERO. He is both a licensed mechanic and an experienced senior manager. We feel certain that operators will appreciate Trevor's understanding of their business needs."
Van Rooyen was born and raised in Zimbabwe where, in his late teens, he worked for Air Zimbabwe for two years servicing Rolls-Royce Dart and Pratt & Whitney JT3 engines. He moved to South Africa in 1981 to further his career opportunities and work on an ever increasing number of engine types. He comes to BBA Aviation ERO from Execujet Maintenance Pty Ltd where he spent the past 16 years in a variety of technical and managerial positions. Most recently he was Director of Technical Services for the company and responsible for a staff of more than 100.
Van Rooyen will be based out of Johannesburg, South Africa from where he will service turbine aircraft operators throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
