The Queensland Government recently announced that the air charter brokerage services arrangement for the whole of Queensland Government with Independent Aviation has been renewed for a further two years.
The Standing Offer Arrangement facilitates a wide range of charter services across the state. As well as passenger aircraft charter, providing essential Government services, the contract also covers the management of helicopter operations for a number of Queensland Government departments. This includes specialised and specific aerial work operations and other non-passenger charters, such as surveys, aerial photography and emergency freight deliveries and support to remote communities.
Established in 1989 Independent Aviation is one of Australia's largest air charter brokers with a particular expertise in the provision of charter services to remote and regional areas in small and medium sized aircraft. The company is proud of its ability to provide aerial services to any destination in Queensland and throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
Managing Director Ian Button said that all members of staff were delighted to be assisting the Queensland Government. "Independent Aviation is Queensland owned and operated and is one of country's most experienced air charter procurement companies. Our specialist resources enable us to provide best value for money for the Government as well as maximizing safety through strict risk management procedures."
The company also sources aircraft for emergency relief and worked closely with Emergency Management Queensland throughout the flood and cyclone emergencies of the past two years, managing air operations for many of the evacuations and essential supply deliveries that took place.
Through the arrangement Independent Aviation is committed to provide a range of valueadded services and high-level technical skills as well as other key benefits such as guaranteed value for money, financial transparency, high quality standards and a focus on safety management. Independent Aviation has also demonstrated a commitment to environmental standards through carbon offsetting flights in association with Greenfleet.
This news coincided with Independent Aviation's move to new purpose designed offices to accommodate our recent expansion. Its new offices were officially opened on 30 Aug 2012 by Cairns MP the Honourable Gavin King.
