ABS Jets celebrates 7,000 aircraft handled in Prague

The first week of September 2012 saw ABS Jets celebrating the 7,000th aircraft to be handled since they started as a handling agent in 2008. The handling of the 7,000th aircraft took place when an Embraer Phenom 300 arrived in Prague. The N registered aircraft stopped overnight in Prague en-route to another destination.

ABS Jets started as a handling agent for their own fleet of aircraft. The handling department has been so successful it has subsequently grown to handle other aircraft arriving at Prague Ruzyne Airport. Last year ABS Jets opened a new hangar, and the enhanced facilities established ABS Jets as the largest executive jet handling provider in Prague.

Executive handling services now form a fundamental part of ABS Jets' business plan. Earlier this year, ABS Jets announced record executive handling results for the 1st quarter of 2012 with almost 30% increase in executive handling services compared to the same time in 2011. In particular March 2012 was an exceptionally good month for ABS Jets which helped to push the increase in aircraft movements even higher.

These increases in aircraft movements reflect the increasing number of business aircraft that are travelling to Prague, both as a business and leisure destination and for maintenance, repair and overhaul. Another factor contributing to the increase is a growing number of executive flights to Prague from North America. With the Prague Ruzyne airport changing its name to Vaclav Havel Airport in October this year it is anticipated that traffic levels will continue to rise.

Jan Kralik, ABS Jets ground operations director "The team at ABS Jets initiated a strategy to ensure that our handling department is perfectly placed to manage the increased demand. We opened our new hangar in the latter part of 2011 and have expanded our handling department with an increased number of handling agents. The team is performing extremely well, it is great to see our plans turning into record breaking results."

Vladimir Petak ABS Jets ceo added "The 7,000th aircraft coming to us is another milestone in the ongoing development of ABS Jets. I was delighted by the arrival of the aircraft and welcomed the passengers and crew to Prague. You can be assured we held a special celebration to mark the occasion."
