Cambridge Airport welcomes business and general aviation leaders to BGAD12

The UK Business and Aviation Day 2012 (BGAD12) is today being held at Cambridge Airport and is already being hailed a success by organisers and delegates alike. Over 400 delegates have attended today's event in order to network with 46 exhibitors from the aviation and motor industry, sealing its position as one of the most important events in the business aviation calendar.

The event has grown year on year, forcing the organisers to move the event to a new, larger exhibition space within the airport complex. Much of this growth is due to the widening appeal of the day, which today plays host to exhibitors from not only the business and general aviation industry but also supply chain, synergy businesses and exhibitors from the automotive sector.

Archie Garden, director of Cambridge Airport, commented, "We are delighted with the turnout for today's event, showing that, despite the difficult economic climate, business aviation continues to thrive in the UK. We are thrilled to be welcoming many of the leading names in the business aviation industry to Cambridge Airport today and have had the opportunity to demonstrate our excellent business aviation facilities, courtesy of our partners Execujet, Marshall Executive Aviation and Marshall Business Aviation".

Today's displays have included the launch of the first ever night-capable air ambulance helicopter in England and Wales, by East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA). Specially built by Eurocopter in Germany using the latest technology and leased from Bond Air Services, the EC135 T2e helicopter was accompanied by members of EAAA's highly skilled doctor and Critical Care Paramedic crews, who will be using the aircraft to access and treat casualties in unlit and difficult terrains during the hours of darkness. Other exhibits include tours of the Execujet VIP handling facilities, aircraft from 2Excel Aviation, Embraer Executive Jets, Cessna and Marshall Executive Aviation, as well as motor industry exhibits from Marshall Motor Group and other luxury Cambridge-based car dealerships.

Marshall Business Aviation, a Cessna Authorised Service facility, also used BGAD12 to showcase its services; which include conversion, modification, maintenance and support for the Cessna 500 Series.
