Press Release
Issued by Cambridge City Airport.
September 3, 2012
Cambridge Airport is preparing to host the UK Business and Aviation Day 2012 on Tuesday 18th September, which is set to be the biggest yet, with a new, larger exhibition area and more delegates than ever before. The event will also stage the launch of the first ever night-capable Air Ambulance in England and Wales.
First held in 2001, the annual event has expanded so much over the last decade that it has now outgrown its former home at Cambridge Airport and has been forced to move to a larger location within the airport complex. Much of this is due to the widening appeal of the day, which not only attracts business and general aviation but also supply chain, synergy businesses and exhibitors from the automotive sector. Almost 50 exhibiting companies have already confirmed participation.
ExecuJet, one of the world's foremost vip aircraft handlers, will be partnering on the event with Cambridge Airport for the first time this year, alongside Cambridge based charter specialist Marshall Executive Aviation and maintenance division Marshall Business Aviation. Visitors to the show will be able to tour ExecuJet's class-leading facilities including luxurious customer and crew lounges, pet immigration facility and vip handling.
Displays during BGAD12 will include the first ever night-capable air ambulance helicopter in England and Wales, which East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) will be unveiling at the event. Specially built by Eurocopter in Germany using the latest technology and leased from Bond Air Services, the EC135 T2e helicopter will enable EAAA's highly skilled doctor and Critical Care Paramedic crews to access and treat casualties in unlit and difficult terrains during the hours of darkness. Other exhibits will include aircraft from 2Excel Aviation, Embraer Executive Jets, Cessna and Marshall Executive Aviation, as well as motor industry exhibits from Marshall Motor Group and other luxury Cambridge-based car dealerships.
New exhibitors at BGAD 12 include TAG Global Training, Gulf Aviation, 2Excel Aviation, Ocean Sky Jet Centre, Vector Aircraft Services and Plum & Ivory. They join BGAD regulars including World Fuel Services, AQMS, Oxford Airport, Martyn Fiddler Associates, Hayward Aviation and PrivateFly.
Visitor entry to BGAD 12 is free of charge by pre-registration at the BGAD website, where a full list of exhibitors and attractions can be found. See www.bgad.aero .
