FlairJet appoints Carlo Montanini as commercial director

FlairJet, the London Oxford Airport-based business charter operator has appointed Carlo Montanini to a new role as commercial director. The move reflects the company's ambition to expand its aircraft management opportunities and to widen its portfolio beyond Embraer Phenom jets, a strategy which has already been endorsed by the UK CAA.

Carlo previously served as commercial director Northern Europe of Austrian-based Cessna Mustang operator GlobeAir. Before that he held the same role at former UK operator Ambeo, having moved into operations and charter after working for Italian aircraft dealer, CGA. Italian born Carlo will be responsible for further strengthening relations with the charter brokers and partners as well as pursuing new business opportunities in new regions. With his excellent European network, and on the ground experience in Russia, he will be representing FlairJet at the forthcoming JETExpo Show in Moscow during 27-29 September.

As its clientele and geographical reach have widened, FlairJet has expanded its AOC area to embrace the Middle East, Africa, the Caucuses and Russia. The company is now ready to grow its capability with a worldwide AOC and add larger cabin aircraft to its managed fleet.

CEO David Fletcher comments, "FlairJet, profitable inside three years of operations, is ready to embark on a new chapter now it is firmly established and the appointment of a full time Commercial Director who knows the market well, this is an important first step in this direction. With the existing management FlairJet has always been strong in operations and technical support disciplines. Carlo's appointment will be the catalyst to exploring new commercial opportunities and maximising the use of our fleet."

FlairJet pioneered Embraer Phenom 100 and 300 operations in Europe, obtaining its UK AOC and commencing revenue charter flights in December 2009 initially with two Embraer Phenom 100s. This summer FlairJet will take Phenom 300 delivery flights for two third party operators in Germany.
