Leading U.S. air ambulance company AirMed International has announced it has entered into a strategic partnership with Singapore-based Asia Pacific Jet to provide air medical services to the region and a second base of operations for AirMed in Asia. The Singapore base is slated to be operational in the Fall of 2012.
"Combining AirMed's experience and expertise with Asia Pacific Jet's business network is truly a win-win formula," said John Ling, chairman of Asia Pacific Jet. "The biggest beneficiary will be patients in the region who will have more access to first-class medical care and transportation."
AirMed recently celebrated its 4th anniversary operating a fully dedicated Hawker 800 air ambulance aircraft from Hong Kong. The new partnership will add another Hawker 800 medical aircraft in Singapore, and Asia Pacific Jet plans to convert two Beechjet 400 Nextant aircraft for air ambulance services from the Singapore base.
"Singapore is an ideal extension to our base in Hong Kong to serve patients throughout the entire Asia-Pacific region," said Jeffrey Tolbert, AirMed International CEO. "We are exceptionally pleased to have the opportunity to work with Asia Pacific Jet to provide complete air medical solutions in Asia."
