RUAG offers Apple iPad 3

At RUAG Aviation in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, the business jet clients of Bombardier, Embraer and Cessna now benefit from a special service: following the completion of more extensive maintenance work, they are given a free Apple iPad 3 specially configured by RUAG.

A wealth of valuable information is stored on this Apple iPad 3, and typical maintenance documents can be accessed via either WLAN or 4G/3G. This enables the efficient scheduling of maintenance directly from the aircraft, with access to the full array of relevant documents. All past maintenance data are also available, making it possible to document and communicate any technical problems that arise while still in the aircraft. Finally, a complete list of all RUAG contacts can be viewed at any time on the iPad.

“By providing this free service, we are facilitating the cooperation between aircraft operators, their aircraft service technicians and our maintenance specialists,” says Ulrich Gehling, general manager business aviation in Oberpfaffenhofen. This offer applies to order volumes of EUR 30,000 or higher and will be available until at least the end of 2012.
