Cambridge Airport, this morning Friday 3 August, announced a further 4% increase in the number of bookings for aircraft using the airport in connection with the UK Olympics..
Terry Holloway, deputy chairman of Cambridge Airport said: "We still continue to receive a large number of booking enquiries each day and during the last couple of days have seen a steady increase in aircraft bookings for the Olympics, particularly as we approach some of the more popular track events. We are delighted to have looked after a large number of new customers at the Airport, all of whom have been highly complimentary about the airspace freedom around Cambridge, the very quick and efficient handling of passengers and the very easy access to the national road system."
Cambridge is one of a small number of airports in the United Kingdom, which is designated 24/7 for the period of the Olympics. Terry Holloway added: "We have handled a number of flights outside normal opening hours and anticipate further similar movements during the next week."
