July 19, 2012
ExecuJet Europe is extending its line maintenance services at the company's fixed-based operation (FBO) facility at Cambridge Airport during the London Olympic period of July 27 - August 12.
The company is locating additional engineering resources at Cambridge for the duration of the Olympics, enabling ExecuJet to support the Bombardier Global family, Learjet 40/45 series and Challenger 300, as well as Gulfstream and Dassault Falcon aircraft. Marshall Aerospace, operators of Cambridge Airport, will offer line maintenance services as usual on the majority of Cessna aircraft, while ExecuJet's in-house maintenance management team will be able to source third-party support for other aircraft types if required.
ExecuJet Europe's Managing Director Cedric Migeon says: "We are already experiencing an increase in handling requests throughout the Olympic period. As Cambridge Airport is located just outside London's restricted air zone, it is a convenient alternative to avoid central London's busy airspace. We are therefore ensuring we offer comprehensive maintenance support services during this time to support the demand from our customers without them having to reposition to another airport."
ExecuJet's FBO facility at Cambridge Airport will offer 24/7 slot allocation during the Olympic period, and will operate on a 24/7 basis from July 26 - August 13. Cambridge Airport is one of few regional airports in the UK capable of accepting business and passenger services with a 24/7 slot allocation during the Olympic period.
