July 10, 2012
Gore Design Completions, Ltd. recently delivered its first aircraft of the year 2012, an Airbus 320-200 for a returning head of state customer.
Boasting a private stateroom and lavatory; the A320-200 also showcased an executive office, conference room, and staff seating area. Design of the aircraft was created and executed by a team of GDC designers led by owner and President Kathy Gore-Walters. Gore Design Completions was pleased to work on this aircraft as it represents the second project contracted to GDC by this customer. The first project was a Boeing 767 completed in 2008.
"It is the ultimate compliment when a customer returns to GDC with another aircraft interior modification," stated President Kathy Gore-Walters. "It is very satisfying to deliver this aircraft."
This A320 delivery marks the first in a string of wide and narrow-body aircraft that the company is slated to deliver in 2012. This departure allows the Port San Antonio facility to make room on its bustling 144,500 square foot hangar floor. The San Antonio based company continues to hire new employees even after the completion and delivery of the A320, as the workforce from the completed project was reallocated to existing objectives. With a record number of 700 employees (over 350 direct and nearly 350 contract), GDC's employee base is larger than ever before to satisfy the current and upcoming production. The majority of employee growth is in the production department followed by the engineering division.
