The first FNPT I flight simulator to be supplied to an Indian Government organisation by Elite Simulation Solutions is now in full use, helping to teach young men and women to fly.

The Elite S712 FNPT I device is installed at the Haryana Institute of Civil Aviation at Karnal, Haryana, about 120 km from Delhi. Elite's S712 is cleared for use by the Indian Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and also has JAA approval. It was bought by the Haryana Institute of Civil Aviation (HICA), a Government body, which is now India's premier flight training organisation with graduate pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers and other aviation professionals working for airlines all around the world.

The Elite S712 is switchable to represent both the single engine Cessna C172 and the twin engine Beech King Air B200. It features three-channel external visual and RealView images of Begumpet Old Airport, Hyderabad.

HICA's chief flying instructor and executive director, Captain Kamal Kishore, said: "The Elite FNPT simulator is one of our first acquisitions to fulfil our vision of becoming a world class centre of excellence for aviation training and services. We will continue to expand with more simulators, more aircraft and more staff in the near future.

"Elite FNPT equipment gives very realistic feel of the controls, coupled with very good visuals. It is ideal for single and twin engine training on specific aircraft types and an equally good training platform for generic single and twin aircraft."

The sale to the Institute was handled by Elite's sole authorized Indian dealer, SRK Aviacom (I) Pvt Ltd, a company that has been involved in aviation for many years. It installs and maintains equipment and also helps in the certification process carried out by the DGCA.
