Biggin Hill Airport visit by BACA members

Biggin Hill Airport hosted a visit last week for members of the Baltic Air Charter Association (BACA) based in the City of London. Led by their Chairman, Mr Dick Gilbert, their mission was to update on developments and to be briefed on plans for the significant increase in air and passenger traffic expected for the Olympic & Paralympic Games as a business gateway to London.

Following a detailed presentation by Robert Walters, Business Development Manager, the BACA group toured the airport to see the 55,000 sq ft Terminal hangar, the new fire station under construction, followed by visits to Jet Aviation where they were received by Chris Webb, General Manager and to Rizonjet where Director Allan McGreal hosted a tour of the passenger handling and the aircraft maintenance facilities.

The group also visited the newly-established Heritage hangar where owner and CEO Peter Monk described the work of his company in restoring and maintaining Spitfire and other WWII warbirds in flying condition.

BACA Chairman Dick Gilbert said that it had been a most interesting and worthwhile visit.

"We were delighted to see evidence of progressive development at the airport and the potential for job creation that this provides"

The Baltic Air Charter Association represents the interests of commercial aviation companies of the air charter industries and markets.
