Midcoast Aviation appoints Jim Zarvos to head MRO and refurbishment activities at the newly acquired Savannah Air Center (SAC)

Jim Zarvos, currently leading Midcoast's satellite operations, was recently promoted by Midcoast Aviation to senior vice president and added MRO and refurbishment activities at SAC in Savannah, GA to his responsibilities

In his new position, Zarvos will soon relocate to Savannah to lead the MRO and refurbishment programs at Savannah Air Center which was acquired by the Jet Aviation Group at the end of January 2008.

Zarvos will continue to lead Midcoast's satellite operations, located in Bedford, MA, Chicago, IL, Palm Beach, FL and Teterboro, NJ. Dave Smith is now responsible for the day-to-day management of these locations. Smith was promoted to vice president, MRO satellite operations and reports to Zarvos. Prior to his promotion, Smith was senior director of quality assurance for MRO satellite operations. He joined Jet Aviation in 1996 as an A&P mechanic at the Teterboro location.

A 35-year industry veteran, Zarvos previously headed Midcoast's custom products function, overseeing the company's Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA) efforts. Prior to that, he led the company's Little Rock, AR, operation until it was sold in 2002. In October 2006, he was named vice president, satellite MRO operations. Zarvos will report to both Kurt Sutterer, president of Midcoast Aviation, and to Jeff Zacharius, CEO of Savannah Air Center.
