Sterling Airlines A/S has hired Mr. Karna Gupta as the company's new Director of Revenue Management. Gupta will head Sterling Airlines' pricing and revenue management activities in nineteen European countries and will apply best practices throughout the airline's network with the aim of offering the Scandinavian consumer the most competitive fares possible.

Gupta is joining the company from Avis, where, as Yield Manager, he spent the last three years covering the European market. His experience includes defining revenue management strategies, analysis and implementation of new systems.

"Karna will bring to Sterling valuable experience within revenue management and further enhance Sterling's ability to provide the most competitive prices to our customers," said Vice President, Michael T. Hansen.

Prior to Avis, Gupta worked in a similar capacity as a revenue manager for easyJet and before that for Go Fly, the low cost airline launched by British Airways.

"I am delighted to have been invited to join Sterling and look forward to facing the exciting challenges ahead with such a great team," Gupta said. He will be taking over the post from Snorri Pétur Eggertsson, who is relocating to Iceland for family reasons.

"It has been a pleasure working with my team in Sterling and achieving so many great accomplishments," said Snorri Pétur Eggertsson.

Gupta completed his Master of Science in Environmental Technology, Environmental Analysis and Assessment from Imperial College London and is relocating to Copenhagen.
