May 14, 2012
TAG Farnborough Airport, Europe's leading business aviation airport, today announced a series of improvements to its award-winning terminal, including a state-of-the-art 'crew room' and new arrivals lounge.
The 'crew room', designed as a rest area for aircraft crews using the airport, includes innovative 'snooze cabins', which are blacked-out and have a traffic light entry system to ensure users are not disturbed. Each cabin is also equipped with a reclining flat bed and personal mp3 player. In total, £50,000 has been invested in the new facility, which offers Wi-Fi, computer access, a drink and snack bar, comfortable seating areas, satellite television, an unlimited movie selection and even a library.
The airport has also opened a new arrivals lounge, which according to Sophie Lesnoff, TAG Farnborough Airport's Customer Services Manager, is intended to improve passenger flow through the airport during busy periods like the Olympics, as well as enhance privacy for arriving passengers wishing to use the terminal's facilities.
"We continually look at ways to improve our facilities and provide a bespoke service in order to meet the diverse needs of our customers. With the new crew room and arrivals lounge, we are able to offer a superior level of comfort, privacy and service," said Lesnoff.
Further planned developments include re-designing one of the airport's departure lounges, with the introduction of a bar and new seating areas.
This announcement follows TAG Farnborough Airport recently being voted 'International FBO of the Year' by readers of Aviation International News (AIN) magazine for the sixth consecutive time.
Over the past 10 years, TAG Farnborough Airport has invested more than £100 million in state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure. The airport features an award-winning main terminal, control tower, on-site radar and two three-bay hangars, providing over 240,000 sq ft of hangarage space.
The airport also offers a wide range of amenities and services for passengers, crew and aircraft including on-site office space, aircraft maintenance, concierge service and direct ramp access for passengers wanting to drive directly to waiting jets.
