May 14, 2012
Signature Flight Support has signed an agreement with Berlin Schoenefeld Airport (SXF/EDDB) to offer supervisory handling at its general aviation terminal beginning in June. The new Signature location will feature the full suite of Signature services and amenities including private crew and passenger lounge areas for rest or work. Customs and immigration services are conveniently located onsite as well. The airport will be renamed as Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER/EDDB) and will become the sole airport serving Berlin when Tegel Airport (TXL/EDDT) permanently closes later this year. Schoenefeld is a short 30 minutes' drive from downtown Berlin and is also served by high speed rail direct from the airport.
Also announced, Signature Frankfurt (FRA/EDDF) now offers fueling services through Rheinland Air Service (RAS). This allows customers to experience Signature's expert supervisory handling at FRA, along with quick and convenient aircraft fueling from RAS.
Joe Gibney, Vice President and Managing Director for Signature Flight Support's EMEA operations commented, "We see Germany as a key strategic market for our growing global network. With one of the largest economies in Europe and a large installed base of business jet activity, Signature Berlin – combined with our Frankfurt and Munich locations – provides our customers with convenient access to the major business and leisure centers of the region as well as a point of entry to our global network. Signature's world-class service delivery and customer-centricity offer a clear value proposition for our customers in Germany and beyond."
Signature Frankfurt opened in December 2011. The company has 3 locations in Germany, and a total of 26 operations across Europe and Africa.
