Midcoast Aviation promotes Steve Bates to vice president, completions and modifications at St. Louis

Midcoast Aviation announced that it has selected 32-year veteran Steve Bates to lead the completions and modifications program at the company's St. Louis Downtown Airport facility.

Bates, who joined Midcoast in August 1976, will be reporting directly to Skip Madsen, senior vice president operations. In his new position, he will be responsible for overseeing six completions and modification departments, which have grown dramatically to handle the company's surge in completions and refurbishment business.

Through the years he has held positions of increasing authority, including director, Challenger program, senior program manager, and director, program management. His most recent position was as senior director, maintenance sales and product management.

"Steve's 32 years with Midcoast, as well as his tremendous depth of knowledge and experience, make him an ideal fit for this key role within our organization," says Kurt Sutterer, president of Midcoast Aviation.
