Press Release
Issued by Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation.
March 22, 2012
Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. will showcase two of its aircraft – the large-cabin, long-range G450 and the large-cabin, ultra-long-range G550 – at the Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (ABACE) in Shanghai from March 27 to March 29. ABACE attendees will be able to view the G450's Elite interior, the all-new optional interior inspired by Gulfstream's ultra-large-cabin, ultra-high-speed G650.
The aircraft will be available for viewing at the Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Center on Hongqiao International Airport. In addition to the aircraft on static display, Gulfstream will have a chalet to host customers.
"Gulfstream has 175 aircraft in Asia Pacific, a number that has grown 350 percent in the last five years," said Larry Flynn, president, Gulfstream. "We are excited to be at ABACE for the very first time so our customers can learn firsthand about the aircraft's tremendous capabilities, their industry-leading dispatch reliability rates and the broad range of missions they can perform."
The Elite interior – an option available on both the G450 and G550 – incorporates the new Gulfstream Cabin Management System (GCMS). Using an iPod touch®, passengers can control the lighting, temperature, speakers, monitors, entertainment equipment, window shades, CabinViewâ„¢ Passenger Information System and attendant call from anywhere on the aircraft.
The design also features leather ledges, less veneer and more high-gloss, painted surfaces within the cabin. For maximum comfort, the seats are equipped with telescoping headrests, flexible wings, curving "waterfall" leg rests, electric lumbar controls with optional heat and massage, and one-touch full-flat berthing. The galley and annex are reminiscent of a gourmet kitchen, with a stainless-steel-trimmed appliance stack, two coffee makers and a convection oven.
Media Briefing and Other Events
Gulfstream has a number of events planned for the conference, including a media briefing at noon on Tuesday, March 27. The 45-minute briefing will focus on the G280 and G650 programs, customer announcements, enhancements to the Gulfstream Product Support network and other news. It will be in Meeting Room #2 of the Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Center.
Gulfstream will conduct a forum for regional operators on Wednesday, March 28, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. in Meeting Room #2 of the Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Center. The session will focus on updates and technical presentations relevant to Gulfstream operators.
