Hawker Pacific announces official opening of new Singapore aviation sales and customer service centre

The Chairman of the Singapore Economic Development Board, Mr Leo Yip, today officially opened Hawker Pacific's new state-of-the-art Aviation Sales and Customer Service Centre at Seletar Aerospace Park. The $SGD18 million ($USD14.2 million) facility was developed and funded by Hawker Pacific, Asia Pacific's leading aircraft sales, services and product support company.

Hawker Pacific Chief Executive Officer, Alan Smith said the milestone event recognises Singapore as a growing force in the global aerospace industry and highlights Hawker Pacific's strong foothold in the Asian marketplace.

"When we opened our regional headquarters in Seletar some 20 years ago, it demonstrated Hawker Pacific's core commitment to our broader strategic growth plan in the Asia-Pacific region. With Aircraft Management Services in Asia and South-East Asia now regarded as significant drivers for growth in the world economy, we are ideally placed here in Singapore to capitalise on the tremendous opportunities that exist in this region," Mr Smith said.

"The capital investment by Hawker Pacific to upgrade and reinvest in Seletar Aerospace Park is now complete and will present us with a platform to further strengthen our already high levels of Aviation Sales, Aircraft Management, MRO and FBO services for our customers, as well as allowing us to meet the significant increase in demand for our services in the region.

Chairman of the Singapore Economic Development Board, Mr Leo Yip said: "We are delighted that Hawker Pacific continues to expand its presence in Singapore. This new Aviation Sales and Customer Service Centre in Seletar Aerospace Park will extend the breadth of Hawker-Pacific's complete aviation services in Singapore to offer a 'one-stop' solution to its customers in the region. It is a strong endorsement of Singapore's position as the leading aerospace hub in the region."

Construction of the new 9400sqm Aviation Sales and Customer Service Centre began on 1 March 2011 and, now complete, offers a full circle of world-class services including a fully-equipped Sales, Management and support offices, a heavy maintenance jet service centre, spares distribution, VIP reception, customer and crew lounges and dedicated undercover jet parking. A new state of the art spray paint booth will be commissioned in March 2012 and will have the capability for repaint and re-completions of aircraft up to large, long range jet capacity.

Transition to the new venue was completed in less than 14 days with no business disruption to customers, suppliers and third parties. All main regulatory authority approvals are now in place and more than 100 staff operate a full range of services including running the Authorised Service Centre, aircraft sales, private jet parking, aircraft management and FBO activities, all under one roof.
