Jet Aviation's Zurich FBO handled the majority of aircraft and passengers attending the 42nd annual World Economic Forum meeting, held January 25-29, 2012, in Davos, Switzerland. Handling 726 movements and 1,600 passengers, Jet Aviation handled the exact same number of aircraft as last year, which is a 10% increase in WEF aircraft handling since 2010.
The annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, caused a substantial increase in aircraft and passenger handling at Jet Aviation Zurich's FBO this past week. The facility handled 361 of the approximate 460 total business aircraft arriving for WEF at the Zurich International Airport, including a few handled at the nearby military airport in Dubendorf. Slight increases in small- and medium-sized business jets and narrow- body aircraft were noted compared to last year.
"We welcomed and assisted most heads of state attending WEF," says Robert Whitehead, director FBO Jet Aviation Zurich. "Having received 3,457 WEF-related emails, averaging one every three minutes, we spent 20 working days on WEF handling requests, which is a great display of trust and confidence in our ability to provide the highest quality service."
The Jet Aviation Zurich maintenance operation also managed numerous maintenance requests from operators attending WEF.
