Two new facilities for ExecuJet Australasia

The ExecuJet Aviation Group today announced the opening of two new Fixed Base Operations (FBOs) in Australasia. The Wellington FBO, ExecuJet Aviation Group's first facility in New Zealand opened on November 16, followed by a new FBO in Melbourne, Australia on November 18, complementing the Group's established Melbourne MRO facility. Both new facilities will offer world-class passenger and crew FBO amenities and experienced FBO staff will be able to provide technical assistance, flight planning, weather reports, catering, fuel and hotel accommodation.

Drive to encourage business aviation to New Zealand

ExecuJet was invited by Wellington International Airport Limited to manage the new facility, which forms part of the airport's redevelopment drive to establish a world-class aircraft handling facility in New Zealand's capital and encourage more business aviation activity. The NZCAA-approved hangar facility, encompassing an area of 2,000m2, will also enable ExecuJet to house a number of large corporate aircraft and provide line maintenance, aircraft charter and aircraft management.

Adopting ExecuJet's strong and recognized corporate branding just like its global network of FBOs, ExecuJet is setting up in New Zealand in a strategic partnership with Capital Jet Services, a well respected local operator.

'We are delighted to be forming a partnership with Capital Jet Services, an established local company," said Darren McGoldrick, Managing Director, ExecuJet Australasia. "We look forward to adding our international experience in aircraft sourcing, maintenance, charter services and aircraft management together with Capital Jet's local knowledge to deliver a world class facility servicing the business jet market."

Melbourne expansion follows success of MRO activity

Located at Essendon's general aviation airport, 10 kilometres from Melbourne city, ExecuJet's brand new facility is an expansion of its existing maintenance facility. It has added a further 1,000m2 to accommodate the FBO, which boasts an integrated lounge area, offices, client offices, stores and maintenance workshops, complementing a private hangar facility which spans over 2,700m2 in a secure precinct at the airport. Overnight hangarage to visiting aircraft will be available. Here, ExecuJet will operate a full service FBO, aircraft management and charter services, alongside its regular existing maintenance capabilities.

ExecuJet Melbourne is an FAA Part 145 Repair station, holds an Australian CASA Certificate of Approval and a New Zealand CAA approval which enables the company to work on a wide range of business jets, turboprops and light aircraft. The facility is also an Authorized Service Centre for Hawker Beechcraft, Gulfstream, Bombardier and Embraer.

"The expanded facility will allow us to offer a more comprehensive maintenance service as well as now offer a full service FBO which we were unable to do previously" said Darren McGoldrick.
