Press Release

November 14, 2011
ExecuJet is reporting strong aircraft sales, additional new managed aircraft joining the fleet based in the UAE, and a significant increase in its Fixed Base Operation (FBO) activity, at this year's Dubai Airshow. Marking its 12th year in the Middle East, ExecuJet has consistently been a noteworthy participant at the bi-annual event. This year, complementing its Booth E370 in the East Hall ExecuJet's latest additions to the fleet, a Challenger 805 and a Challenger 605 will be displayed in the static park.
"The Dubai Airshow has always been an important trade event for us and we are very pleased to participate once again this year," said Mike Berry, Managing Director, ExecuJet Middle East. "Dubai's geographical location, positive tax environment, wealth density and excellent infrastructure for the aviation sector have proven to be significant contributing factors in the recovery and growth of the business aviation sector. It provides an excellent opportunity to showcase and promote ExecuJet's full range of aviation services," he added.
Aircraft Sales positive
"Aircraft sales in the region have been positive with a number of aircraft being delivered recently. Our current areas of focus are the CIS countries and Saudi Arabia," said Andrew Hoy, Managing Director, ExecuJet Aircraft Trading. "ExecuJet's approach to regional expansion is based on good local partners and sound business ethics with expansion being organic as well as directed," Mike Berry adds.
The market for private jets in the region is well established and continues to expand with a growing trend towards larger aircraft which have a global range. "A business jet can range in price from under a million USD to $60 or $70 million with the majority of jets in the region selling for around $20-$30 million. Saudi Arabia has the largest share of the private jet market, closely followed by the UAE. In terms of heavy metal tonnage, few countries beat Saudi Arabia owing to the large number of Boeing Business Jets, Airbus Corporate Jets and larger jets that are privately owned and operated," Hoy explains.
A Challenger 850 joined ExecuJet's fleet in October and by mid-January 2012 an Embraer Lineage 1000 will be the largest and latest addition to the company's fast-growing fleet of managed aircraft, taking its total to 22. The newest aircraft, configured for 19 VIP seats, will be based in Dubai to complement ExecuJet's existing charter offering, which now includes the Learjet 60, the Hawker 800XP, the Challenger 605, the Falcon 900DX, the Challenger 850 and the G5000.
Dubai FBO shows 20% increase in growth
ExecuJet's FBO in Dubai has witnessed a 20% increase in aircraft movements compared with the same time last year, handling an average 300 movements per month. November and December are predicted to be even stronger compared with this period last year. All countries in the region have been very active, but Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been notably busy. October 29th saw one of the busiest days in the FBO's history when it handled a record 31 flights.
The facility recently underwent a partial refurbishment and the ExecuJet customers' overall experience has been further enhanced to include Arabic-themed hospitality. Guests are served with the finest Arabic coffee, mint tea and dates. ExecuJet's Regional Operations Director, Mark Hardman says, "the key to a successful FBO is complete customer focus and I am delighted to say our FBO team are delivering the best in customer experience."
