TrueNorth Avionics has announced it has added Andrew Nasmith as Director of Strategic Aviation Solutions, representing the company's full line of airborne telecommunications products. Nasmith brings more than 20 years of sales, sales management and implementation account management experience in the aviation, MRO, OEM and defense industries, most recently leading global enterprise software sales for maintenance, repair and overhaul at Ramco Systems Canada, Inc. His OEM sales background includes work with General Dynamics, EADS and Boeing.
"Andrew's industry knowledge, sales management experience and proven track record make him a great addition to our sales team," noted Mark van Berkel, TrueNorth's CEO. "Despite the recent economic uncertainty, TrueNorth is continuing to grow and we're pleased that Andrew will be able to help us meet the brisk demand for Simphone¯ OpenCabin and our other executive-class solutions for business aviation," he added.
A revolutionary software-centric system, the Simphone¯ (pronounced 'symphony') OpenCabin system brings an unprecedented degree of reliability, operator control and communications capabilities to business aviation. Since existing airborne telecom systems were heavy, complex, expensive to install and operate, and prone to obsolescence, TrueNorth developed a solution that addressed all those concerns, with benefits that include robust performance; an unlimited lifespan; significant long-term cost savings; and the ability to easily add a wide variety of custom features. TrueNorth's newest system advance is the Stylus™ handset, the industry's first multilingual handset, available in wired and wireless configurations, which also features a one-touch operating system, HD Voice Quality and a design that can be uniquely personalized to match an operator's cabin décor.
