Universal Aviation opens second Spain office at Girona-Costa Brava Airport

Universal Aviation in Spain has officially opened a second office in Spain at Girona-Costa Brava Airport (LEGE/GRO) due to its strategic location as a cultural and commercial hub in the Catalonia region. Universal Aviation in Spain's headquarters is located in Madrid at Torrejon International Airport (LETO/TOJ).

"Spain has always been an important location for Universal Aviation and we have had an operational presence there for more than 30 years. We are excited to now bring our skills, knowledge and support to customers operating to Girona," said Gonzalo Barona, Managing Director, Universal Aviation in Spain. "We chose to expand to this location so that we could better serve our Europe-based and international clients operating to Girona, which is a gateway to both the Pyrenees and ski resorts of Andorra, as well as just a one-hour drive from Barcelona."

Located in the Catalonia region of Spain, the new location is situated seven miles south of Girona City centre in Vilobi d'Onyar. It is well connected to Costa Brava resorts including Lloret de Mar, l'Estartit and Blanes, and is about a 40-minute drive from the French border and about 56 miles from Barcelona.

"Spain continues to be a very important destination for our clients. We are delighted that with the opening of our office in Girona, Universal Aviation will be the only handler physically based on site at the airport," said Jonathan Howells, Regional Vice President, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. "This new location is another example of our commitment to Spain and the continued growth of our Universal Aviation ground support network in Europe."

The new facility is open 24/7, 365 and can provide all ground services for aircraft as large as 777 and 737. The airport has no noise restrictions and Customs and Immigration are available. Other amenities of the location include:

- Crew lounge

- Private entrance/exit in the main terminal for GA traffic

- Internet access/WiFi

- VIP catering
