Tough economic times inspire Jet Connections' world-first aviation scheme

A WORLD-FIRST aviation scheme has been launched on the back of the UK's economic woes - bringing together private jet owners who want to offset their operating costs and gain better value for money from their asset, with those who long to own their own aircraft but their dreams are crushed by cost.

Jet Connections, an aircraft management company based at Oxford Airport, has created a unique Non-Equity Sharers (NES) Programme that will financially benefit both parties in these tough economic times.

The timely launch also comes as the UK Government this week unveiled a hefty new private jet tax in their Budget announcement, which only adds to aircraft owners' burgeoning financial pressures.

Major aircraft manufacturers, including Cessna, Embraer, Dassault and Bombardier, have shown a high level of interest in the NES scheme and have eagerly awaited its launch. The ground-breaking programme could help to give the aviation industry a much-needed boost.

Under the NES scheme, Jet Connections will create flying groups by matching one private jet owner with a maximum of three people or Non-Equity Sharers (NES) who wish to use the owner's aircraft.

For jet owners, the innovative scheme will substantially reduce their fixed operating costs. They will also have the peace of mind by knowing who is using their aircraft.

For those who would like to own a private jet, but cannot justify the expense of buying an aircraft outright, the programme will give all the benefits and advantages of full jet ownership without the huge capital outlay and with no depreciation costs. Sharers will enjoy using the same jet and have their very own dedicated crew.

The NES scheme also guarantees sharers a much lower rate than the market rate for chartered flights, saving at least tens of thousands of pounds every year per sharer.

Tariq Deir, Director of Operations at Jet Connections said: "Thanks to the current economic climate, buying trends within general aviation have changed drastically, gone are the good years we had in 2006/07 where finance was freely available. In order to capitalise on current and projected market trend, innovative schemes must be created and pushed forward.

"This programme was developed with the entire general aviation industry in mind - we have a great passion for this industry and want to keep the engine running, not only for owners and users, but for manufacturers and re-sellers too."

Zaher Deir, who has nearly 30 years experience in the aviation industry and is Managing Director of Jet Connections, said: "With this innovative NES programme, we are creating the perfect sharing arrangement for both aircraft owners and those people or businesses wishing to 'own' their very own jet.

"Fixed costs are paid by all users equally, whilst variable costs are based on actual use and are paid by individuals according to their usage.

"If you own a private aircraft, it costs you money even when you're not making use of it. Our NES Programme can offer you much better value on your asset.

"While the advantages of owning an aircraft are numerous, so are the costs. A private aircraft is very expensive to purchase and comes with many added expenses, for example, hiring and training pilots, maintenance, insurance, and management.

"If you have a reason to own a private jet, but you can't justify the expense of owning the aircraft outright, then our NES Programme will be the perfect solution for your flying requirements."

The scheme will operate on a yearly basis and will be managed under a Jet Connections contract.

Benefits of the NES programme to aircraft owners:

1.. Substantially reduce fixed operating costs.

2.. Reduce management and administration costs.

3.. Reduce the annual maintenance cost, for example, it is much better for the aircraft to be used more regularly, regular use will keep the aircraft working well.

4.. Know the people who are using your aircraft.

Benefits of the NES programme to sharers:

1.. Gives all the benefits and advantages of full jet ownership without the capital outlay and with no depreciation costs.

2.. Reliability and consistencies on costs and comfort on every flight.

3.. Guarantees to offer sharers a much lower rate than the market rate.

4.. Peace of mind with regards to safety and security.

5.. Open booking system based on agreed ground rules.

6.. Having a dedicated crew and management team, with the full knowledge of the aircraft's serviceability and its airworthiness.
