High-flyer joins ETS Aviation to lead unique fuel-saving solution

Ian Britchford, formerly easyJet UK's Fuel Conservation Manager responsible for spearheading multi-million-dollar fuel-saving initiatives for the British airline, has joined ETS Aviation to head up its Fuel Saver tool. ETS Aviation specialises in combining cutting-edge software with consultancy on a low-cost subscription basis. The company provides a unique solution, enabling smaller airline operators to access software and expertise previously only available to the major airlines.

Established in early 2009 by a team of aviation managers and software specialists, the company created web-based AVIATION FOOTPRINTER™ to help operators efficiently manage their emissions data monitoring and reporting and enable online access to auditors for verification. Current clients include Malev Hungarian Airlines, Air Seychelles, Sky Wings in Greece, White Airways, US cargo specialist Evergreen, Royal Flights in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and over 50 business aviation operators. ETS Aviation also powers a number of international trip support service providers to help their own clients with ETS requirements via its strategic partner system.

According to Ian Britchford, "Airlines worldwide will gain substantial operational benefits for a very modest investment. As the price of fuel continues to climb and Emissions Trading Scheme costs start to bite, our low-cost, high-volume approach will attract hundreds of operators worldwide. Our aim is to offer a fuel-saving service to all operators, no matter what size or operation."

After an assessment of Fuel Saver, a customised training programme is designed and delivered. The software tool, once launched, will harvest and analyse data across a spectrum of operational parameters, enabling operators to achieve sustainable fuel savings via easy access to fuel data analysis and measurements. A small number of airlines will initially join a development partner programme due to start in the early spring. The programme will provide a staggering return on a modest investment, reduce fuel costs for hundreds of airlines and help towards CO2 reduction targets for the aviation industry.

David Carlisle, CEO of ETS Aviation, added: "With Ian's formidable experience, both in fuel-saving and in software applications, we expect our fuel-saving solution to become the 'must have' software/consultancy solution. The Fuel Saver tool, supported by Ian's team, will revolutionise fuel-conservation programmes, analysis, functionality, application and execution."
