Germany's Rheinland Air Service (RAS) will participate at Booth #3010 at this week's Business Airport World Expo at Farnborough, UK, to promote its FBO & Handling Services at Munich Executive Airport (Oberfaffenhofen). On Thursday, March 3 from 11:30–12:30, RAS' FBO Manager Thomas Mayr will participate in the "Choosing the Right Flight Partner" panel discussion, hosted by BACA Chief Executive Markham Jackson.
Over the past 18 months, RAS has invested close to 500,000 Euros enhancing the Fixed Base Operation (FBO) at Munich Executive Airport. The FBO has added a crew briefing room, two new crew recreation and relaxation rooms and a sundeck. The RAS operations team provides a comprehensive range of handling activities and full FBO service including de-icing, and AC/DC ground power. Professional aircraft valeting is offered in co-operation with partner PAC. The current airport operating hours are 07:00–21:00 Monday through Friday and 08:00–21:00 on weekends (PPR). However, hours can be extended to meet individual customer requirements.
Munich Executive Airport boasts a 7,500 foot runway with full ILS capability. Hangar parking is available on request and can accommodate aircraft with tail heights up to seven metres. Two 6,000sqm hangars provide short and mid-term parking while long-term parking or stationing is also available.
"Over the next few years Munich Executive Airport and our FBO will grow in importance as a premier destination," forecasts RAS Chairman Johannes Graf von Schaesberg. One main reason is the convenient location, just 25km southwest of Munich and right off the main A96 highway. The airport offers easy access to the Munich city centre, and serves as a "special gateway to Bavaria."
Munich Executive Airport is regularly used by NetJets, DC Aviation, ILFC and various large corporate flight departments. The airport is also home to several renowned aviation companies, including RUAG Business Aviation Maintenance (authorised service centres for Cessna Citation and Bombardier) and Dornier 328 specialist, 328 Support Services GmbH.
Firmly established on the business aviation scene
In addition to running the FBO at Munich Executive Airport, RAS provides authorized sales and service for many leading companies in business aviation. RAS represents DAHER-SOCATA as its exclusive German and Austrian distributor for the DAHER-SOCATA TBM 850 high-speed single-engine business turboprop. RAS also partners with Finnoff Aviation, a leading US dealer for pre-owned Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, for PC-12 support in Europe, Russia and Turkey.
RAS will open a new HondaJet base at Munich Executive Airport
RAS is one of only three Honda Aircraft dealers in Europe and with a territory covering central Europe, RAS has plans to establish a new HondaJet Sales and Service Centre at Munich Executive Airport.
"Rheinland Air Service is heading towards sustainable growth in all our business segments. The market has always responded well to tailor-made attention. That is what we pride ourselves on – offering great flexibility and strong customer service. We are delighted to be expanding our activity in business aviation," concluded Johannes Graf von Schaesberg.
